FTOPS XXI – Day 7 Report

Three more poker tournaments saw action on day 7 of the FTOPS XXI and three more winners were crowned. The first of the Saturday events was the $535 NL Holdem Heads-up event. The initial guarantee the event was supposed to offer was a $100k one, but the 301 players who registered, created a $150k one instead. The winner of the event was Nick Petrangelo. He made no deals, and he pocketed a top prize of $36.8k after he bested a player known as “naimad89” heads-up. The reward of the runner-up was $21k. There were a few notables in the starting field and a handful of them actually managed to log some deep runs: Luke Staudenmaier for instance finished 13th for a $3k reward, while Bryn Kenney made it all the way to 9th place.

Event #15, the $322 PL Omaha Six-max one, saw 534 players belly up to its virtual tables. The initial guarantee of the tournament was set to $100k, but as almost every other FTOPS event, #15 clearly beat that. The eventual prize-pool was a $160k one. This event saw a two-way deal between the two top finishers. The eventual winner, “veeea” took home $28k. The runner-up, “The_Real_Kid83” was rewarded with $30.4k. There were a few “name” players who finished deep in this event too: Mohsin Charania ended up in 32nd place, while Timothy Finne finished 9th.

Event #16 was the $322 PL Omaha Six-max one. 905 players coughed up the buy-in for this one, generating a prize-pool of $181k, almost doubling the initial guarantee. There weren’t any deals in this one. The winner, Branko07, took home the full $41.6k top prize. The runner-up, Brainbuster777 was rewarded with $26.2k.
Ben Wilinofsky finished 18th for a $905 reward. Jonas Klausen made it all the way to 7th place.
