FTOPS XXII – Day 2 Report

The second day of the FTOPS’ 22nd edition saw 3 more events go into the books: Event #3, the $216 PLO one, event #4, the $1,060 NL Holdem 6-max one and event #5, the $216 NL Holdem Turbo one.
The player who stole the headlines for the day was Chris Moorman, one of the biggest ever online poker tournament winners who had never managed to add a FTOPS title to his trophy-case before. Moorman won event #3, for a top prize of $21.2k, not a significant sum for a player who has amassed more than $9.2 million in online tournament cashes, but the emotional significance of the achievement shouldn’t be underestimated.
Moorman has been after a FTOPS title for quite a while: the closest he came to achieving his goal was in 2009, when he finished runner-up to Mark Radoja in a $300 event. That tournament ended with a 2-way deal which left Moorman with $204k to take home.
In celebration of his first FTOPS victory, Moorman took to twitter to spread the word. He bested a player known as “Hudzzzzz” heads-up. The runner-up took home $13.1k. None of the other players finished in 5 figures in the event.

Event #4 featured a prize-pool of $784k. There was a 3-way deal at the top in this one, which allowed every one of the 3 top finishers to take down 6-figure prizes. The winner was keinebeine, who took home $131.2k. C Darwin2 finished second for $124.6k and Jason James wrapped up the top 3 with $102.5k.

Event #5 offered a prize-pool of $186.2k. The winner, ! Caio Pimenta ! took home $37.2k. Other players who finished with decent prizes were John Leathart ($24.8k) and WKD33 ($17.6k).
The third day of the FTOPS XXII will feature 3 events too.
