On January 6, Full Tilt Poker’s MiniFTOPS XXI kicked off. Players were obviously starved for action, because they flooded Full Tilt Poker’s online tables, putting the $300k guarantee of the first MiniFTOPS XXI event to shame. A total of 23,739 players coughed up the $22 buy-in, creating a prize-pool of $474.7k. The winner of the
poker tournament was thejuice514, who bested Beswick22 heads-up to take down the $62.3k top prize.
There weren’t any deals made in the event, so everyone walked away with exactly as much as he/she deserved.
The 21st edition of the MiniFTOPS is basically a small-scale replica of the FTOPS XXI. It features the same 35 events with the difference that the buy-ins cost one tenth of the regular FTOPS buy-ins. That makes the MiniFTOPS suitable for smaller stakes grinders and beginners. The MiniFTOPS guarantees total $3 million. The highlight of the series is the Main Event which costs $75 to enter and which offers a $750k guarantee. The Series runs from January 6 to January 20.
Several of its events are already in the books.
Event #2, the $22 PLO Hi/Lo one, saw 1,884 players belly up to its virtual tables. The resulting prize-pool was a $37.6k one, which guaranteed the eventual winner, Gennadiy As, a $7.5k haul. There were no deals made in this event either.
Event #3, the $109
NL Holdem Multi Entry one, was a much more generous tournament. The winner walked away with a massive $50.8k prize, despite a heads-up deal. The runner-up pocketed $47.8k.
WSOP bracelet winner Peter Traply played in this event too: he ended up in 4th place for a $21.5k prize.
Event #4, the $22 NL Holdem Rush Turbo one, created a prize-pool of $69.5k. The winner of this tournament, whatariver1, took home $13.9k.
