Full Tilt Poker’s poker bot woes

The poker bot problem is apparently far from being a thing of the past at Full Tilt Poker. The world’s second largest online poker site has sent a mass email to some of its members explaining to them how the site will step up security measures in the future, including better poker bot detection.
The email also said that several bot users had been apprehended and their victims would be reimbursed. Other than the obvious, the email meant one thing: up until recently, there had been poker bots playing at Full Tilt Poker and they had been cheating people out of their monies.
The use of poker bots has always been against Full Tilt Poker’s policies, but the spicier detail of the issue is still to come: apparently, the company that manufactured the software used by most botters at Full Tilt Poker, was not only indentified (Shanky Technologies), it has issued a statement of its own regarding the matter.
According to the statement (which was more like an apology to its customers) Shanky Technologies was unaware of the reasons why Full Tilt Poker had suddenly and without warning shut down the accounts associated with the poker bot technology produced by the company. According to Shanky Technologies, Full Tilt poker had been aware of the presence of its poker bots for quite a while and it had tolerated them.
Whether Shanky Technologies is just trying to land a sucker-punch against Full Tilt through this statement or whether it is indeed telling the truth, remains to be seen. One thing is certain for now: if you wake up with funds of unknown origin in your Full Tilt account, chances are they’re from a Shanky Technologies botter.
The real question now is: will there be bots playing at the site in the future?
