Gold About to Bag Another Gold?

Day 35 of the
2015 WSOP was not a particularly generous one bracelets-wise, but it was extremely interesting nonetheless. The grand total on the WSOP jewelry awarded on Day 35 was 0, but two of poker's big names, Anthony Zinno and Jamie Gold managed to maneuver themselves into favorable positions for a title run. Gold is the infamous winner of the 2006 Main Event, the one with the biggest prize ever awarded to the winner. Following his Main Event accomplishment though, Gold failed to show the sort of prowess poker fans may have expected from a champion of that caliber and he failed to live up to the poker world's expectations in other respects as well. It now looks as though he may be in for some sweet vindication: in Event #59, a $1.5k NL Holdem affair, he finished second in chips at the end of the second day of action.

Gold had a little over 1 million chips bagged, well ahead of 3rd place man Jesse Yaginuma, who only had 773k. The one who finished with the largest stack was Guiliano Bendinelli, who had 1.55 million chips.
The beginning of the second day saw some 309 players return to the tables, the survivors of an initial starting field of 2.155.
Interestingly, Ari Engel, Harrison Gimbel and Joe Kuether also made the provisional top 10 of the tournament.
Event #60, the $25k PLO High Roller, was obviously pro-heavy. Anthony Zinno finished with the largest stack at the end of what will go down as the penultimate day of the tournament. He had 2.4 million chips bagged. Juha Helppi finished second with 2.21 million. Others who bagged healthy stacks were Shaun Deeb, Talal Shakerchi, Christian Harder, and Alex Kostritsyn.
