Full Tilt Poker public, Gus Hansen, another member of The Professionals, is gearing up to kick-start his own challenge, known as the Poker Pro Battle. Hansen’s promotion is even higher profile than Blom’s: the Great Dane will take part in a televised battle for $100k, against the winner of the Pro Battle live event.
Frankly, the promotion has kicked off long ago: players from the Baltic Region have been playing in real money satellites and in freerolls since October 7, with the aim of securing one of the $3k packages to the above said Pro Battle live event.
The qualifiers are already out of the way though and the lucky few who managed to secure that $3k package are already itching to belly up to the tables of the Grand Final, which kicks off on November 16. The Grand Final offers a guaranteed prize-pool of $150k, but on top of that, it will give one player the chance to battle it out with the Great Dane for a $100k additional prize.
Now then, the winner of the Grand Final gets to go to Kiev, where further green felt hostilities shall unfold: more precisely, there will be 6 Deep-Stack 6-max SNGs, each of them featuring two of the online qualifiers and four formidable opponents like Oleksii Kovalchuk, Dominykas Karmazinas, Konstantin Puchov, Sergey Ribachenko and Andrey Zaichenko.
The winners of the six SNGs will pick up prizes, but more importantly, they’ll advance to a final table which offers a much bigger prize-pool as well as the chance to take on Gus Hansen heads-up for a $100k prize.
