Hairabedian Wins Event #5 of 2013 WSOP-E

Friday may have been a good day for millions of people world-over, but it’s safe to say that few had it as good as Roger Hairabedian, the winner of event #5 of the
World Series of Poker Europe. First of all, Hairabedian disposed on none other than Erik Seidel heads-up, a fact that has certainly boosted the value of his victory by quite a bit. The joy of picking up the gold bracelet quickly faded into the background for the winner though, in light of the records he set with it. Hairabedian became the first ever French player to become the owner of multiple WSOP bracelets. He also became the first multiple WSOPE winner.
The €148.8k haul added quite a bit to his career WSOP winnings, taking them over the $700k mark. He now also has more than $4.4 million in career tournament profits.
After his win, Hairabedian said that it was a really good thing for him and for French players in general (he probably meant it was good for the game in France).
He made no deals on his way to the top, taking down the full projected share of the winner.
Seidel had to settle for the €92k reward of the runner-up. Kevin Song finished 3rd for €67.1k, followed by Israel’s Matan Krakow in 4th, whose share of the loot was €49.7k.
The third and final day of the
poker tournament saw 7 players return to the tables. Two of them were from Canada and it turned out they would be the first two to bite the dust. Max Greenwood was bounced first, his 7th place worth €22.2k. He was followed to the rail by his fellow countryman Mike Watson, who pocketed €28.6k for his 6th place.
Erwann Pecheux of France fell in 5th, picking up €37.5k.
