High stakes online poker action – Hansen recovers more of his losses

The action has certainly picked up quite a bit at Full Tilt’s high stakes
online poker tables towards the end of last week. Gus Hansen was again in the middle of the frenzy, once again ending up with a profit thus further nibbling away at his massive 2010 deficit. $3.3 million big at its largest, that deficit has now been successfully reduced to around $2.2 million, thanks to Gus’ skillful maneuvers and the apparent cease-fire he’d signed with Lady Luck. Hansen made most his profits at the expense of Di Dang.
Patrik Antonius saw some action as well and he walked away with some profits too, which put him around $500k above the red line for the year.
Gus Hansen took on Di Dang at the $500/$1,000 capped PLO tables, the scene of his recent wins, and sure enough, Lady Luck came through again for the Great Dane. One of the pots that reached the cap ended up in Gus Hansen’s possession after his 7s full of 8s put an end to a raising war initiated by his opponent.
The other player to make excellent headway through last weekend was Patrik Antonius. Most of his profits came from a player named Sauce1234, who has indeed been thoroughly milked by the Finn.
NL Holdem was the game, and the blinds were $200/$400. The biggest pot of the session was a nearly $100k whooper, which ended up on Antonius’ side of the table. Sauce1234 was the one who initiated the all-in on a board of 9,5,3,Q,4 rainbow. Antonius was happy to oblige as he tabled A,2o for the wheel and for the win.
Another monster pot saw Antonius’ top pair triumph over Sauce1234’s flush draw, after they ran the turn and the river twice, to give the Finn another $89k monster-pot.
