How Have Past WSOP Main Event Champions Fared?

With the 2015 edition of the WSOP's Big Dance just around the corner, it is time to take a look at how past WSOP champions have fared at the green felt, following their historic victories. With every one of these champions, a lot of fuss was made of how they fulfilled their unofficial "duties" as ambassadors of the game. Some of these players have scored high with the public on this "chart" while others have shown little interest in representing anything other than their own financial interests. While one could argue all day about how good an ambassador Jerry Yang was compared to say...Joe Cada, there is one measuring stick which leaves no room to arguments: the number of cashes and the amount of poker profits the champions have amassed in the wake of their historic accomplishments.
Sign up to Full Tilt Poker and play in their cash games, which are the best in the business. They also have some outstanding WSOP Main Event qualifiers running.

By every objective measure, Greg Raymer has been the most successful Main Event champion, although having won in 2004, he has definitely had much more time to roam the poker circuit than say 2011 winner Pius Heinz. Raymer has racked up 22 tournament cashes since, including a cash finish in the main event, and his tournament profits total some $1.58 million. By comparison, Chris Moneymaker - who took down his title in 2003 - only had 3 cashes and some $32k in profits.
Joe Cada was also a very active champion: he finished second in the profit category with $1.38 million and he had 11 cashes. As far as the number of cash finishes is concerned, Jonathan Duhamel is a firm second with 17. He only has $524.7k in profits though...
Full Tilt Poker is a great destination for cash game action, but it's also great for WSOP qualifiers. Register an account with them now!
