ISPT Wembley Main Event – Final Table Reached

Even though the WSOP 2013 hogs up most of the attention of the poker world these days, there are a couple of other things going on in the background as well. The ISPT’s Main Event for instance saw 20 players return to its tables on its 5th day of action. The main objective of the day was for that field to play down to the final table, an objective which was indeed handily accomplished.
Many of those who returned to action obviously brought a do-or-die mindset, because as soon as the action kicked off, players began hitting the rail left and right.
Praz Bansi was among the early victims of the day. He was followed to the sidelines by Dave Ulliott and Freddy Deeb. It took the field a little over 4 hours to fulfill the objective of the day: the final table. Jean Miguel Lacerda had played well through the day, even managing a double-up against the eventual chip leader Pete Linton, before he ran his A,Jo into Ferhad Seyadi’s Ac, Qc on the final table bubble. Neither of the two players involved managed to improve his hand by the river and thus the final table was set.

During the break which followed the setting of the final table, a deal was discussed but the idea was eventually dropped. The first victim of the final table was Julian Gardner, who got all his chips into the middle with trip 10s, only to be runner-runnered by Linton, who made the nut flush for the knockout.
Jerome Brion was the next player to head to the sidelines. Seyadi was the last victim of the day, sent to the rail by Nick Hicks, whose pocket 7s got the better of his Jc, 2c.
