JayP-AA Hits $1 Million Mark

Last week was pretty busy as far as high stakes online cash game action was concerned: forced to relinquish his biggest winner of the year spot, Finland's Ilari Sahamies decided to drown his sorrow in booze and in his inebriated state, he took his frustrations out on Daniel Cates in a verbal showdown well worthy of
online poker's book of shame. The player who had dethroned Sahamies was JayP-AA, whose moment in the spotlight was somewhat tarnished by the fact that he'd failed to hit the $1 million mark for the year. After another stellar run this week though, that objective was accomplished as well: having amassed some $141.1k in profits, JayP-AA became the second biggest winner of the week, and his total for the year has climbed above the $1 million mark for the first time. His deed was accomplished at PokerStars, which is exactly where the biggest winner of the week came from as well: Mikael Thuritz finished some $233.8k above the red line, clinching the top spot for the second consecutive week.

Phil Ivey, one of the biggest losers of the year thus far, managed to stitch together a profitable run too. At PokerStars, he took down some $126.8k. Unfortunately for him, Lady Luck still hasn't taken him back into her graces at Full Tilt Poker: he ended up dropping some $70.4k there...
Jean-Robert Bellande played at Full Tilt too and he didn't fare any better than Ivey did. Last week, he was one of the big winners, with $121.4k to his name. This week, he gave all that back and then some, losing $143.2k over just 283 hands split between two sessions.
