Jens Kyllonen’s Laptop hacked at EPT Barcelona?

Besides the top poker action, there were apparently other – much less savory – things going on at the EPT Barcelona in the background too. Jens Kyllonen was the player who alerted the poker community through one of the popular poker forums to a possible scam that he had apparently fallen victim to, together with a couple of other players. In his initial forum post, Kyllonen said that when he arrived at his Hotel Arts Barcelona hotel room, the key did not work. He went down to reception to get a new one and when he returned he noticed his laptop had been removed from his room. He then went back down to report the theft and when he got back a short while later, his laptop had been returned.
Kyllonen then went on to warn the other players about the scheme, telling them not to use their laptops to log into their online poker accounts.
PokerStars’ head of communications, Lee Jones chimed in on the issue as well, confirming Kyllonen’s story and assuring everyone that PokerStars officials, together with the Hotel Arts security team were looking into it.

A few days after the story first broke, another Finn, Aku Joentausta also came forth about the incident, saying that he had had his laptop taken for a stroll as well.
Apparently, following the incident, an error message popped up on Kyllonen’s computer, suggesting that the perpetrators have tampered with it somehow. Joentausta said the same error had appeared on his laptop as well.

Joentausta also cast the shadow of suspicion upon the hotel staff, saying that no one else could’ve tampered with their magnetic room keys.
Lauri Pesonen had apparently had his laptop taken away as well. The hotel staff accepted no responsibility over the incident thus far.
