Joe McKeehen Wins One on His Way to November Nine

2015 will certainly go down as a year to remember for the current chip leader of the November Nine, Joe McKeehen. Not only has he managed to work his way into the top 9 of the biggest tournament of the year, the WSOP's Main Event, he did so in style: he now holds the largest stack and is the mathematical favorite to win it all. On top of that, possibly emboldened by the position in which he found himself after the summer stage of the WSOP Main Event, he just managed to win the 2015 Wynn Fall Classic Main Event for a $90.1k haul. While this success pales in comparison to what he's already guaranteed at the Big Dance, it's still a nice push which takes his stock even higher going into the November Nine.

A total of 267 players paid out the $1.6k buy-in creating a prize-pool of $388.4k. The guarantee for the tournament had been set to $300k, so it was eventually left in the dust. 12 players remained in contention for the final day of action and among them, Joe McKeehen was 4th in chips. The one who held the lead at that point, with 1.76 million chips, was David Levi. Eventually though, Levi couldn't take full advantage of his large-stack: he bowed out in 5th place for a $10.8k reward.
The one McKeehen took on heads-up was Seth Berger. Berger - a "name" pro himself - was aiming to push his lifetime tournament profits above the $1 million mark, but he fell short: his second place was only worth $60.9k.
