Jonathan Duhamel Wins 2015 WSOPE High Roller

On Friday, two-time WSOP bracelet winner and
WSOP Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel swung into action again, pocketing his third bracelet at the 2015 WSOPE, after winning the €25.6k High Roller. Duhamel said that pocketing his third bracelet felt even better than his second one, possibly because it was the second gold he took down this year, but more likely because he played through the toughest poker tournament of his life for it.
The final day of the event saw just 6 players return to the tables, set on playing down to a winner. Duhamel wasted no time at all once the action got going: he made a set of 8s against Mustapha Kanit's big slick and cashed in on it, doubling up over the chip leader. He then dropped some chips to Davidi Kitai and Fedor Holz though, eventually storming back against the latter and sending him packing in 6th spot.

At this point in the tournament, Kanit still had the chip lead, after he bounced Christoph Vogelsang - another of the local boys - in 5th place. Sam Chartier bowed out next, followed to the rail by Kanit, whose elimination at the hands of Duhamel set up the heads-up stage of the poker tournament between the latter and Davidi Kitai.
While the heads-up bout kicked off on relatively equal footings, Duhamel took the lead quite quickly and he never surrendered the initiative. The final hand of the tournament saw Kitai's J,7o fall to Duhamel's pocket 7s after a 7 fell on the river. Duhamel's reward was a handsome €554.3k, while Kitai had to settle for €342.6k.
