Justin Bonomo scores $75,855 in PokerStars’ Super Tuesday

Justin Bonomo won PokerStars’ Super Tuesday besting a field of 389 initial entrants to take home the $75,855 prize, together with the bragging rights.
Some better known players who missed the final table were: Christian Harder, who busted out in 19th place for a prize of $2,723, Mark Herm, who finished 18th, for $3,890, Ryan Karp (17th) Robert Elkin (16th), Dustin Woolf (13th for $4,668), and Brent Hanks (10th, for $5,446). Bonomo had already secured a choke-hold on the action by the time the final table was reached. He held a comfortable chip-lead, with 344,256 chips, followed by Joe Patrick in a distant second, with 256,900 chips. Jonathan Delong also made it to the final table, though only with 58,326 chips.

The fact that he started the final table action as a short-stack didn’t offer Delong a whole many options. Forced to either chip up or bust, he locked horns with Joe Patrick shortly after the final table action commenced. Patrick made the call from the SB and Delong made it 9,604 from the BB. Patrick called yet again, to see a flop of 2h, 8d, 7h, Patrick drew some more chips into the pot via a check-raise on the flop, and the Ad came on the turn. Patrick once again took the initiative on the turn and Delong tagged along. The Qh on the river prompted Delong to shove all-in, and he was called by Patrick right away. Delong showed pocket 7s for a flopped set and Patrick tabled pocket rockets for a higher set.
Player “Nmel”, himself a short-stack, tangled with Bonomo next, and as his Jc,8c fell to Zeejustin’s K,5o, he too was bounced.

“Trazamanna” tangled with Joe Patrick next, pitting his Q,8 against the latter’s K,10. As the board ran 2,A,6,3,K, Trazamanna was ejected in seventh place. He did take down a $13,615 prize though.
Joe Patrick initiated the action for the next elimination too. Player “anfo500” decided to take advantage of his position and shoved all-in from the button over Patrick’s raise.
Opperstoof69 then mounted a defense of the BB re-raising anfo500. His K,K then proceeded to make short work of anfo500’s K,Q to eliminate the latter in 6th place.

Joe Patrick had been at the heart of every decisive hand for a while, but his turn to hit the rail came too. He made the mistake of tangling with Bonomo, and even though he had a pair of K’s in his pocket, Bonomo’s J,9 connected with the board for a straight, to eliminate Patrick in 5th place.

Sms9231 fell next in 4th place and Opperstoof69 was bounced in 3rd to set the heads-up stage of the event. Bonomo started with the better odds and a 3-1 chip lead over Mumtum23. The final hand of the event saw Bonomo’s K,7 go up against Mumtum23’s K,4. The flop gave the lead to Mumtum23 by landing a 4 but Bonomo took over on the turn by making a flush. The river was a brick and Bonomo picked up the winner’s share of the prize-pool.
