Ladies Diamond Poker Club: Girls Only!

Just weeks before 3 new faces get sworn into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame, just after Vanessa Rousso wiped the floor with her male opponents, and just as Annie Duke is all over the media, it seems a little obvious to state that poker is no longer a game just for the boys, but sometimes the obvious needs stating.
Nancy Todd Tyner of the Ladies Diamond Poker Club was very happy to announce the launch of her female-orientated poker league. Cashing in and encouraging the shift in poker demographics over recent year, Tyner together with John George have put together the ladies league in order to cater to this specific group.
One of the biggest differences between the Ladies Diamond Poker Club tournaments and other tournaments that you find is the payout structure. Whereas most tournaments will have a top heavy structure meaning that the few at the top get the bulk of the prize-pool, the ladies oriented tournaments tend to have a more evenly distributed prize allocation often meaning that around 50% of the entrants will be walking away with money. The idea is not to be softer, but rather to be more appealing to female sensibilities and is based on extensive research. The poker organisation serves to run tournaments but also to provide an environment in which women feel comfortable to play and learn.
The Ladies Diamond Poker Club will be running events around North America with the next event taking place in Tulalip, Washington on May 16th – see you there.
