Las Vegas Sees New Deal Struck Up Between 888 and Golden Gaming

With proof on the table that real money online poker is possible in Nevada indeed (albeit we’re yet to see if the activity is viable for the operators), offshore online poker platform providers like 888 are still lining up to secure strategic partnerships with companies “on the ground” to try to grab as big a share of the Nevada market as possible.
Apparently, 888 – who already have a few such partnerships in place – have received a preliminary approval from Nevada regulators in regards to a brand new deal involving Golden Gaming. The partnership is a more complicated one though, because Golden Gaming – a brick and mortar operator which has 40 taverns within Sin City and 2 more casinos in Pahrump, close by – isn’t about to get directly involved with online poker. There’s a third party in the setup though, Treasure Island, which will be tasked with the setting up of a real money online poker operation, using the 888 platform. What Golden Gaming will do is that it will direct its customers towards Treasure Island, effectively promoting the operation in its live venues.
The revenues generated by the partnership will be divided among the three parties.

Golden Gaming attorney Michael Alonso has indeed confirmed that the brick and mortar operator will effectively serve as a marketing vehicle for the partnership. The Nevada Gaming Commission still has to approve the setup, even though 888 and Treasure Island have already been awarded interactive gaming licenses back in March.
The other similar partnerships that 888 have secured in Nevada are the Caesars Interactive Entertainment deal and the one signed with WMS Industries, a slot machine manufacturer. All three of these deals are nonexclusive of course.
The only question remaining now is whether the new Golden Gaming deal will indeed manage to draw enough players to Treasure Island’s virtual tables.
