With the WSOP round the corner, appetite for MTT poker action is increasing every day. The WSOP is great to follow, but only a fraction of the action-hungry online poker players will ever make it to a WSOP table and get a hands-on feel of what it’s like. The answer for these folks is to hit poker rooms like

ECOOP (the European Championship of Online Poker) which is set to kick off on May 25th. The buy-ins featured by this series of online MTTs are much smaller than those of the WSOP side events, and thus they’re accessible to a much larger player base.
The first edition of the ECOOP was held back in 2007, and featured a total prize-pool of $2.5 million spread out over 10 days of action. Since then, the ECOOP has become more popular and the prize-pools have almost doubled as well. It now features 14 action-filled days, culminating in a NL Holdem Main Event which alone offers a $1.5 million prize-pool.
ECOOP event winners get
WSOP-like bracelets in addition to the lion’s share of the prize-pool they pocket.
The buy-ins for the various ECOOP events range from $100+$9 to $1,500+$80, which means they are within the reach of a huge number of players. This doesn’t mean you should buy in directly though.
There are several
online poker sites offering seats in the ECOOP via their online satellites, but Mansion Poker is probably the best choice if you intend to satellite your way in. You can register for their direct access satellites but you can also use their sub-qualifiers to grab an ECOOP seat for as little as $1+$0.1.
