Mike Watson Wins 2016 PCA Main Event

The Main Event of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure went into the books the other day and its winner was Mike Watson, who defeated none other than the only player to make the final table of the
poker tournament three times: Tony Gregg. In the end, Watson's triumph wasn't just over Gregg though, but over the entire starting field of 928 players, and thus - fittingly - it carried a very generous reward of $728.3k. He would probably have earned more, had it not been for a heads-up deal, which locked him up some $695.3k, while leaving Gregg a share of $612.1k. The deal left $33k to play for, and that's what Watson eventually picked up. Gregg ended up with the $612k allotted to him by the above said deal. While the money he took down was sweet indeed, Gregg was probably left disillusioned yet again, having once more failed to make it all the way in the PCA Main Event.

The first victim of the final table was Timothy Ulmer from the US, who had to settle for a $78.5k prize. He was followed to the rail and the payout booth by Ken Demlakian of Australia, whose 7th place was worth a little over $110k. Randy Kritzer, the only amateur player at the final table, made it all the way to 6th place. He picked up $153.9k for his efforts.
Russia's Vladimir Troyanovskiy made a deep run in the tournament as well: he finished 5th, picking up a $207.9k prize. Toby Lewis of the UK finished 4th, for a $267.3k reward. Phillip McAllister was 3rd. He took home $356k.
