More Full Tilt Players to be Paid

It is indeed quite interesting, but apparently some of the players who have had their funds locked up by the DoJ in 2001, when Full Tilt Poker was shut down following the Black Friday of
online poker, have still not gotten their monies back. More precisely, we're talking about players who have failed to fill in every required bit of info in their claims, players whose funds are/were disputed and the category considered "new petitioners". Well, there's apparently some good news for people in the above categories, as - according to the PPA's John Pappas (who got his info from a trusted contact within the DoJ's Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Section) - no fewer than 2,000 of these players will have their funds transferred to them in the next week or two. A total of $5.7 million will be paid out this way and the sum has apparently been approved already.
Play at Full Tilt Poker, one of the most innovative and happening spots of the online poker industry, running generous promotions aimed at recreational players.
The above said funds will be transferred to the Garden City Group first, the company appointed by the DoJ to handle the issue. Having received the funds, the GCG will perform a number of banking tests before transferring the due amounts to players' individual accounts.
Despite this latest round of payments, not all pending cases will be closed. According to Pappas, there are still some 3,800 cases that are unsolved and that will remain pending for the near future. The GCG has not yet updated its fulltiltpokerclaims.com with any information pertaining to the $5.7 million mentioned by Pappas. The majority of the unresolved cases are about new petitioners and they apparently don't even include professional players, who were under contract with the operator when the shutdown happened.
