More New Jersey Internet Gambling Permits Granted

Following in the Borgata’s footsteps, several other Atlantic City-based live gambling operators have picked up Internet Gambling Permits from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement the other day. The newly licensed operators are the Golden Nugget, the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort and the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino.
The vice president of the Golden Nugget, Tom Pohlman said in the wake of the announcement that his company stood firmly behind the right of US-based players to gamble online without the fear of being swindled by some shady offshore operator, which – unlike his company – most often has no physical presence in the US market to back up its brand. The Golden Nugget was not caught unprepared by the advent of legal online gambling in the Garden State: it has teamed up with Bally Technologies and it will begin peddling its online games through GoldenNuggetCasino.com and GoldenNuggetPoker.com.

The other two recently licensed operators have partnerships in place as well to begin setting up their online side of the business as soon as possible. The Trump Taj Mahal has partnered up with Ultimate Gaming and Trump Plaza will go online courtesy of Betfair. According to Trump Entertainment Resorts CEO Robert F. Griffin, Ultimate Gaming was the perfect partner for his side having a proven track record and being a “trusted partner".
All the above said licensees will have plenty of time to prepare their online offerings, given that none of them will actually be allowed to launch their online operation before November 21. From November 21 to November 26, they will get the chance to test-run their systems, after which they will gain full access to the Garden State’s real money online gambling and online poker market.

What other live operators from Atlantic City will pick up their licenses before November 21 remains to be seen.
