Nevada’s Online Poker Market Diversifying

Nevada was the first US state to legalize and regulate online poker, and although it has since been overshadowed somewhat by New Jersey, it will still always be a trail-blazer in this respect. Despite the head start, until not so long ago, Nevada only managed to muster two
online poker operations: Ultimate Poker and WSOP.com. A couple of days ago however, all that changed. A third online poker room was launched by Real Gaming. The new operation is backed by the South Point Hotel Casino and Spa. The actual site made its debut way back in October 2011, as SouthPointPoker.com. The operation received approval to begin offering real money online games in August 2012. The site was then re-branded to Real Gaming, but its background remained the same.
Unlike the existing two operations, Real Gaming is essentially a browser-based operation. Its software runs directly in all major browsers and thus no download is required at all. How exactly does Real Gaming verify the location of its players then? After all, that’s a must when operating as part of the regulated markets. Players are required to download a mobile app first. This app is available for iOS as well as for Android devices.
Players will then have to log in through the said app, and they will have to complete a number of steps in order to gain a token, which will ultimately grant them access to the game through the regular software. The token has to be entered into the software manually, from the mobile app.
It is said that the site will offer a wide range of cash games as well as tournaments, although there are no MTTs currently available. There aren’t any promotions on offer either, and there’s no marketing campaign to speak of in regards to the operation.
