New Jersey Online Poker Gathering Momentum

New Jersey has been the epicenter of the return of online poker to the US, and indeed, in these last couple of weeks, it has more than confirmed its status. The action here is slowly but surely picking up, within the confines of the possible player-base of course. On March 21, the official hard launch of PokerStars NJ took place, marking the return of the world's biggest online poker operator to the US market.
To make a long story short: for the first time in years, the future does indeed look bright for online poker in the US, at least from the perspective of the players. Last weekend was a big one tournament-wise too: several big tournaments were running, among them PokerStars' Sunday Special, which - with its $50k guarantee - is one of the biggest online tournaments in the Garden State. The winner of this event was Jeremy Danger, who took down the $11.1k top prize. Danger did not stop there though. He won PartyPoker's $50k guarantee as well, taking down the $10.4k top prize and becoming the first player ever to win two majors in New Jersey over the same weekend.

In the Sunday Special, Danger outlasted a field of 309 players. There were a few notables playing in the tournament too, and two of them made it all the way to the final table. Ted Ely ended up in third place for a $6.3k haul, while Zachary Holzer was bounced in 8th place. His share of the prize-pool was $1.3k.
In the partypoker/Borgata $50k guaranteed, Danger survived a field of 262 players. Daniel Sewnig was the only notable who made the final table. He finished 5th for $3.5k.
PokerStars has been the best online poker destination for years and now it's back in the US too. Create a PokerStars account right now and join the action!
