67 Day 1A and Day 1B survivors squared off in Day 2 of the APT Macau. Grant Levy, Tony Dunst and Mel Judah were all among Day 1 survivors. All of these folks would bust out fairly early on Day 2 though. Being pressured into acting by a short stack, Mel Judah was the first to go all in on a K, J. Unfortunately for him though, he got called down by Martin Stewart on 10,10, and even though the board came very close to hitting him with a higher pair, it ultimately missed him completely.
The pace of eliminations soon picked up as short stack after short stack decided to try to double up or bust. Adutya Agarval, Wooka Kim and James Honeybone all fell victims to this stage of the hostilities. The trickle of players heading to the rail soon swell into a flow, and thus the bubble was soon within sight. The most unfortunate APT Macau participant turned out to be J.J Liu. Things had pretty much gone her way during Day 1, this time however she took on the role of bubble-girl, busting out with a $6k prize almost within her grasp. She went all-in on the ante with a pair of 8s, as four other players joined the hand, ganging up on her and checking it down to the end just to see her go. Sure enough, one of these players made a Broadway straight and J.J Liu was busted.
Piotr Gruzcynski has a single chip left himself when Liu fell, and he too busted out soon after, but that one chip clinched him a $6k prize.
People began to loosen up after the bubble burst, and the pace of eliminations once again gathered momentum.
Carter Gill, one of the overachievers of the previous day, went down in 14 position, when the Q,8 he pushed all-in on found more than a match in Joon Hee Yeah’s A,10.
Grant Levy put all his chips in on an A,10, and got called by Robert Karian’s 9,9 which held up and sent Levy packing in 12th position.
By the end of the day, out of the 67 starters there were only 8 players left standing. Casey Kastle finished the day in the lead with 456,000 chips, followed by Chong Wing Cheong with 454,000.
