The $40k Points Sprint is in full swing at Americas Cardroom where every weekend for the whole month of February the on line poker site is awarding big cash prizes to the winners of special leaderboard races. The $40k Sprint is divided into 4 $10k sprints each lasting 3 days and each falling over a weekend in February.
The $40k Points Sprint is specifically for players who play at the on line poker site's ring games, and of course it’s only the cash ring games that count. For every hand you play in you get points, not only that but every-one gets an equal amount of credit for each hand – hence the Dealt Rake method. A lot of on line poker sites will award points according to the amount an individual rakes, but for the $40k Points Sprint Americas Cardroom will reward all players dealt into the hand an equal amount of credit no matter if they fold before the flop or win the hand. In this way the more you play the more points you will win and your success in the leaderboard table is dependant on high pot hands rather than winning a hand. For every $1 raked at a table every player that’s dealt into the hand will receive 1.25 points for the current $10k Sprint.
From each of the $10k Sprint on line poker leaderboards which run from Friday to Sunday inclusive, the top 250 players with the most rake will get a cash prize. The top cash prize for this promotion is $2,000. The next $10k Points Sprint will run from Friday February 17th to Sunday February 19th.
