The CAP tables were such a success at Americas Cardroom low stakes tables that the on line poker site is now opening them up for all members.
When Americas Cardroom introduced CAP tables at the beginning of August even they couldn’t have expected the level of success they’ve experienced. The opportunities offered by CAP tables are no longer limited to low stakes tables however, and are now available at all stakes levels offered at the on line poker site.
The idea of a CAP table is that the on line poker site limits the maximum possible bet for each player on each hand. The CAP is set at 30 times the blind so whilst this limits the amount that a player can bet, it doesn’t do so restrictively as each player still has a good amount to play with. On CAP tables a player who has reached the CAP will be considered as if he was all in; thus you can play holdem very easily within a budget and whilst of course potential wins are also capped in this system, potential losses are greatly limited which means ultimately that players get to play more games. Americas Cardroom after just one week of running the CAP tables at the low stake tables opened them up to all stakes levels. The move came as a response to extremely positive feedback on the one hand, and demands for the CAP tables to be available to all on the other hand. Today if you want to play holdem on a CAP table at Americas Cardroom you simply go to the poker lobby and look for the word CAP written next to a table name; you will also see written the amount of the CAP for that particular table.
