Last Sunday saw some frenzied action at the online poker tables all over the web. Several players have walked away with hundred of thousands of dollars in winnings. With the FTOPS XIII in full swing, business was booming over at Full Tilt Poker. Three FTOPS events went down during the day and three winners were crowned: t1gerheat, NNNobodYYY and mikeyG16.
The biggest winner of the weekend was the winner of Pokerstars’ Sunday Million though, h2oace, who pocketed a $240,210.01 prize.
The $200+$16 buy-in event drew a starting field of 8,007. That gave birth to a pretty impressive prize-pool of $1,601,400. H2oace took the lion’s share of that, Jacob126b38 took down $176,514.01 and FOREVER_RU scored a $120,105.01 payday.
Of the better known online players who competed, Paul Lieu finished in 21st for $3,523 and Craig Bergeron finished in 69th for $2,241.
PokerStars’ Sunday Warm-up also drew a nice field, although it was barely half as big as that of the Sunday Million. 4,090 players coughed up the $200+$16 buy-in, combining for a total prize-pool of $818,000. The first place prize was thus a $128,426 one and it went to player “mellowGold11”. Second place went to “hwtd1” who took home $95,706 for his efforts. Third place and a $67,485 went to player “haneferd”.
The Sunday 500 yielded a much smaller starting field, probably on account of the bigger buy-in. 1,110 players paid the $500+$30 buy-in to combine for a total prize-pool of $555,000.
Player “OGURI” who won the event took home $94,350. Second pace was rewarded with $69,375 and it went to Jesse Fulmer. Jeff Madsen finished third, for a $52,669.50 prize. Ben Willinofsky finished in 11th place for $4,884 and Michael Sampoerna ended up 14th for $3,774.
Event #10 of the FTOPS XIII, a $320+$22 NL Holdem one attracted a sizeable field. 5,660 players bellied up to the tables at kick-off and they combined buy-ins for a total prize-pool of $1,698,000.
T1ger heat took down the first prize of $189,318, followed by conslice, who earned $219,772 (due to a deal the top 4 have struck).
Tom MacDonald finished 13th in this event, pocketing $9,339. Matt Affleck finished 21st and Andy Bloch busted in 42nd for a prize of $3,396.
The third FTOPS event of the day was a $240+$16 NL Holdem Knock Out 6-max one. 4,644 players combined for a prize-pool of $928,800 here. The first place prize was a $177,419 one which ended up in the possession of player “mikeyG16”. Second place went to Capax Infiniti who took down a 6-figure sum as well. Animalcraka finished 3rd, for $75,418.56.
Isaac Baron was 6th and took down a $27,864 prize.
FTOPS event #9 was a $500+$35 NL Holdem Heads-up event. 1,024 players took to the tables, paying up the $500+$35 buy-in and combining for a $512,000 prize-pool. NNNobodYYY won it all, taking down $72,721. Craig Gray finished 2nd, for $69,614 and Geoff Rasmussen finished 3rd for $27,136.
Yevgeniy Timoshenko finished in 17th for $4,096 and Darren Elias in 24th.
