Online Poker Action – Blom Locks up with Polk Again

Doug Polk and Viktor Blom have both made the trip to Melbourne to play in some of the biggest poker tournaments of the beginning of the year, and to rack up some green felt glory and Aussie dollars Down-under. Despite the fact though that for the average poker professional, the Series offer more than enough action (there’s a $10k Main Event, as well as a $100k and a $250k Challenge event), Polk and Blom have repeatedly found themselves having to turn to the virtual felt to satisfy their thirst for more.
Over the last few days, the two of them logged quite a number of hands at Full Tilt Poker’s cash tables, and for Blom, things have indeed been going in the right direction. Thus far, he has amassed some $123.4k in profits, despite some pretty wild variance that he incurred over the 2,499 hands that he played.
Polk’s fortunes have been going the other way though. He is the biggest loser of the above-said period, having dropped $302.7k over just 1,245 hands. On top of that, he took part in the $100k Aussie Millions Challenge too, where he bought in twice, spending $200k, so everything added up, the week was a hard one on his finances indeed.

It’s probably no consolation for Blom, but he wasn’t the only one to get the rough treatment of the poker gods over the week. Trueteller was another big loser: he lost $240.7k over 1,902 hands and just 12 sessions.
Alexander Kostritsyn – who has been a regular of the losers’ list lately, in a rather “Gus Hansonesque” fashion – lost big again: he dropped $229.8k. Hansen himself was among the losers too of course. The Great Dane only lost about $173k this time, not a bad week by what have grown into some beyond-abysmal standards for him.
Full Tilt Poker is the best cash game corner of the online poker universe. Open an account now, play, or just gawk at the way the pros slap each-other around at the high stakes tables.
