Notorious
online poker maniac Viktor Blom was missing from the online poker tables for the last couple of months, a hiatus which was at least a little weird, given the extreme level of commitment he had shown for the game in the past. Well, whatever the reason for his absence, one thing’s certain: he’s back now and he’s taken up just where he’d left off.
Isildur1 popped back up on December 9 at the $25/$50 PLO tables. He took on VietRussian, and he eventually embarked on a winning spree which lasted for a few days, before he started donating some of the money back in his unmistakably original way.
Despite all the ups and downs, Isildur1 ended up the biggest winner of that week, with a profit of $586.3k, scored over 21.6k hands, and 204 sessions.
Ronnie Kaiser made the winners’ circle too. He finished just behind Blom profit-wise (he finished $489k above the red line) but overall, his play was much more efficient: he only logged 4.6k hands, spread over 86 sessions.
VietRussian, Viktor Blom’s primary target was the week’s biggest loser, with $492.7k dropped over 8.9k hands.
Phil Galfond didn’t do much better either: he dropped $486.7k over 4.9k hands.
Blom may have logged an impressive overall profit, but one can see from the sheer number of hands he logged that he could’ve won a lot more. His thunder run was pretty much busted by a $120k loss that he incurred on the day he returned to action: he lost $120k to VietRussian on December 9, finishing the biggest loser for the day.
The following day he returned with a vengeance though and he erased all his losses: following his $120k Friday loss, he scored a $620k profit on Saturday. On Sunday, he added nearly $1 million to his tally, but he then dropped $774k on Monday, truly ruining what was beginning to look like an unbelievable run indeed.
