Online Poker action – business as usual for Hansen

Gus Hansen, the Great Dane, must’ve been indebted up to his ears to Lady Luck the last couple of years, but whatever debt issues he had appear to have been settled lately. For a while there, “business as usual” meant losing and losing big for Hansen, who had practically been turned into an ATM people played to get money from. These days, “business as usual” has a different meaning for him though. This past weekend, Hansen was by no means an ATM. He looked more like a repo guy, eager to reenter into possession of the $3.3 million he’d dropped in 2010, before his winning run began.
Ilari Sahamies was the one standing between him and that money, and it didn’t end well for the Finn. He dropped quite some dough to Hansen over the weekend. One of the largest pots the two played for, a $80k monster landed in Hansen’s pockets too after his middle set got the better of Sahamies’ top pair both times they ran the turn and the river.

DrugsOrMe was the other outstandingly successful player of the weekend. He and Hansen tangled at the $500/$1,000 Capped PLO tables, with Hansen winning one of the largest pots they played for. Despite the tussle, they both ended the week well in the black.

Marcelo Marigliano saw some pretty heavy action over the weekend as well. As a matter of fact, he was involved in some of the biggest pots of the week. Sauce1234 was the opponent Marigliano tangled with at the $200/$400 PLO tables. The largest pot, a $111k monster, ended up in Marigliano’s possession when his wheel got the better of his opponent’s middle set in the backdoor.
Another 6-figure pot, a $104k one, went to Marigliano as well, when his straight triumphed over Sauce1234’s top set.
