It’s no secret to anyone versed in the ways of the poker and
online poker world that Gus Hansen hasn’t really ever done well online. The Great Dane’s high variance style no longer seems to cut it at the virtual green felt and even though every now and then he does still go on a tear, his downswings are much more pronounced than his winning runs. Since he’s joined Full Tilt Poker as one of the newly re-launched operator’s in-house pros, he’s has several massive losing sessions. He closed out 2012 on the same note too: he dropped $1.4 million to ring out the old year.
Needless to say, Hansen was the biggest loser of last week too: he lost $770.5k and he put in quite a number of hands for it too: it took him 19.7k hands spread over 135 different sessions to lose all that money.
Eugene Yanayt lost big too: he almost lost as much as Hansen. He dropped $751.4k over 9.8k hands spread over 80 sessions.
The winners were also numerous of course. The biggest one of the week was SallyWoo, who pocketed $980.2k in 23 different sessions, totaling 4.7k hands. The second biggest winner of the week, Sebastien Sabic won only about half as much as the leader: he finished the week $508k richer after he logged 6.7k hands in 65 sessions.
Scott Seiver made the winners’ list as well, together with Alex Luneau and Ronny Kaiser. Most of Kaiser’s profits came on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day: he pocketed $437k during that run, milking Santa to the max indeed.
It should also be mentioned that both the biggest winners and the losers came from Full Tilt Poker during the last stretch of 2012.
