Online poker action- Hansen still going strong

After the inexplicably long losing streak he had seen a couple of years ago, Gus Hansen is currently the hottest player at
Full Tilt Poker’s nosebleed tables. Lately it seems like whenever something noteworthy happens, he is involved in it. Over the last few days, he played with Daniel Cates at the PLO tables, walking away with a profit of $750k. Nothing seemed to work for Cates, at least not in the bout he had with Hansen. He did manage to take down the biggest pot of the week, from none other than Phil Ivey though, so it wasn’t all rough going for him.
One of the 6-figure pots that Hansen pocketed from Cates was a $162k one. Hansen kept firing out pot-sized bets through the hand and Cates kept calling them right until he was forced to muck his pocket cards when faced with the Great Dane’s turned full house.
A few hands later, another massive pot developed. That time, the money went all-in on the turn, as Hansen had a top set against Cates’ top two pair. The river card was run twice, but nothing could stop Hansen from scooping the entire pot again.
Cates managed to recover some of the money he dropped to Hansen from Phil Ivey, at the $500/$1,000
NL Holdem tables. The biggest pot that he took down in that session was to be the biggest one of the week, too. In the said hand, the money went all-in on a flop of 9,9,8, which gave both players a two pair. Cates had A,8 and Ivey had pocket Qs. The 8 on the turn though gave Cates trips to seal the fate of the $194k monster-pot.
Hansen was the one who managed to finish on top of the winners’ list yet again, with about $740k in profits. Scott Palmer was the biggest loser of the week, having dropped $391k.
