Viktor Blom’s major swings are well known through the
online poker industry, so seeing the Swede drop more than $1 million over a week doesn’t exactly surprise anyone. Seeing him finish as the biggest loser of the week, for several weeks on end does however ring an alarm bell. Despite the major downswings he registers, Blom has always been able to counter with similar upswings. As of late though, he hasn’t been able to provide an answer to all the money he lost. Las week, he finished as the biggest loser, around $1 million under the red line, and his woes continued this week, when he managed to once again lock up the dubious honor: he finished the biggest loser again albeit this time he “only” dropped $557.5k. He logged 7,283 hands at the high stakes tables, split into 176 different sessions.
Other players who made the losers’ list were Sebastien Sabic, who lost $509k in 1,770 hands, spread over 17 sessions. SallyWoo finished under the red line too, by $453k this time. Ben Sulsky and Phil Galfond rounded out the losers’ circle.
The other end of the spectrum was represented by Niklas Heinecker. The German finished as the biggest winner of the week, taking down a $631.5k profit. He needed 4,170 hands and 25 sessions to pull in that dough. Most of Heinecker’s wins came at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables.
Another winner was punting-peddler, who finished $464.2k above the red line. Harry Cassagrande finished among the winners as well, together with Doug Polk, who took advantage of his challenge match against Ben Sulsky to add some money to his bankroll. Phil Ivey, who finished in the losers’ column last week, managed to rebound to the tune of $359.2k, for which he needed 3,880 hands split among 83 sessions.
