This week, the high stakes
online cash game action was kicked into high gear as there were no major live tournaments running anywhere. There were quite a handful of big winners, the biggest one of them all Joeri Van Der Sman, known by the online moniker ‘Love2playU’, who took home profits totaling $535.7k. It took him 9,126 hands, spread over 211 different sessions to achieve the feat.
5tgb6yhn7 was another big winner: He logged profits of $332.6k. Other winners were Theo Jorgensen (who won $324k) and Daniel Cates (who took home a $306.2k profit).
On the opposite end of the spectrum were the big losers. Ben Tollerene led the list of shame with a loss of $486.8k. Ignat Liviu lost big too: he dropped $283.1k in 3,142 hands. Benny Spindler and Gus Hansen dropped quite a bit of dough too.
The highlight of the week was the return of Isildur1 to the online tables. Blom, who had been away taking part in his first WSOP, made his return and although he failed to make particularly big waves wins or losses-wise, he did capture the attention of the press.
He popped up at the tables on Monday, when he logged a short session in the morning, only to return later and to eventually finish the day with a $187k profit, which made him the biggest winner of the day. Blom played at the $100/$200 PLO tables, which is where he took down the biggest pot of the day (a $94.8k monster) from Ben Sulsky.
Ilari Sahamies showed up at the $200/$400 PLO tables too, and sure enough, within just 3 hours, he accumulated $430k. He later dropped some money, but he still finished the biggest winner for the day with $403k to his name.
Wednesday was the biggest cash game day for PokerStars in 2012. The action was hot and no fewer than nine players managed to eke out 6-figure wins.
