Online Poker Action - Ivey Takes Down Monster Pot

When players of the caliber of Phil Ivey and Viktor Blom lock horns at the
high stakes cash game tables, some massive pots are bound to go down and that's exactly what happened the other day, despite the still-ongoing WCOOP. The pot - one of the biggest of the year so far - went down at the PLO tables on September 12. The blinds were $200/$400 and Ivey was having a ball at the tables: he started off by amassing some $200k in profits during a session which saw Ben Sulsky drop some $300k. Blom then showed up and started playing Ivey, after he had won some $400k before during that same day. It only took Ivey an hour and a half to completely fleece Blom, leaving him $260k under the red line for the day. It was during that fleecing that the above said big pot occurred.

The hand started out with Blom on the button, raising. Isaac Haxton got out of the way and Ivey 3-bet, prompting Blom to call. The flop landed 10c,Js,6d and the betting/calling continued. The 5d landed on the turn, followed by the 5h on the river as the money kept flowing into the pot. Blom responded to Ivey's bets with raises and by the time the war of wills stopped, there were $346.4k in the pot. Blom then showed A,A,Q,9 for nothing but aces and 5s. Ivey on the other hand had J,6,K,7 for the two pair - not much either, but enough to scoop up the monster.
Ivey finished as the biggest winner of the day with some $190k to his name.
