Last weekend, the
online poker action was hot again, with scores of "name" players taking part in the green felt hostilities and with some of them walking away with quite a bit to show for their efforts. One of the pros who did good over the weekend was Nicolas Chouity. His success came at PokerStars, in the $215 Sunday Supersonic, which he won hands-down, taking down the $47.3k top prize. The Sunday Supersonic is quite an event indeed: its hyper-turbo structure means that it runs its course in about 2 hrs, despite the fact that it usually draws more than 1k players. Last weekend, no fewer than 1,401 players bellied up to the tables of the tournament, and it only took them 117 minutes to play down to a winner.
The Sunday Million, PokerStars' flagship weekend major, on the other hand took a lot more to complete: the 6,271 entrants took 12 hours to play down to a winner. In the end, there was a 4-way deal at the top, which gave each of the players involved a $90k cut while leaving quite a bit in the middle to play for.

Eventually, the UK's HKongBanker finished 4th, picking up $90k. "neto gol" from Brazil ended up in 3rd place, for a $142k prize, followed by "Lekerov" in 2nd, for $125k. The winner of the tournament was Greece's AlexanGeo, who took home $144.1k for his efforts, thus finishing as the biggest tournament winner of the weekend.
Over at Full Tilt Poker, Romania's Bogdan Nicolae claimed the Sunday Brawl title, scoring 10 $50 bounties on his way to the top. Thus, his total profits for the event hit the $5.6k mark.
