Online Poker Action – Sahamies Week’s Biggest Winner

Last week, there was plenty of live poker action going on in various areas of the globe. Still, for the diehard online maniacs, the time was right to exchange a few 6-figure pots online, and besides the usual nosebleed stakes PLO action, the NLH hostilities flared up too. It’s not a secret to any of the railbirds that Ta-Chih Geeng was the dominant force at the nosebleed stakes tables over the last couple of weeks. This time, Geeng decided to tend some other chores though, as he was nowhere to be seen at the online tables. His disappearance gave others the opportunity to hit the spotlight.

One of the players who took full advantage of the situation was Ilari Sahamies. Davin Georgi saw action too, finishing the week second to Sahamies in the amount of money raked in. Sahamies ended up about $270.1k above the red line. He achieved those profits in 2,536 hands, logged in 24 different sessions. Georgi on the other hand generated $175k over 15 sessions. Despite Geeng’s virtual absence, he did get the chance to lock horns with Sahamies last Friday. Sahamies played $100/$200 PLO, and he ended up with a profit of $374k. He played 6-handed, against a field which included Geeng. One of the largest pots of that session was a $119k one, for which Geeng and Samahies did battle. The monster ended up in Sahamies’ possession after he turned a straight flush.

There was little doubt on Friday that Sahamies was on fire. He continued his rampage on Saturday, when he added a further $171k to his tally, mostly at the expense of Rui Cao. Cao rebounded later in the day though and he finished over the red line too, by about $100k. The biggest pot of the Cao-Sahamies bout was a $126.4k one, which – needless to say – ended up in Sahamies’ possession.
Besides Sahamies and Georgi, the winners’ circle also included Niklas Heineckerragen and ChaoRen160.
