The
WSOP usually brings about quite a lull in the volume and intensity of the high stakes
online poker action, but this year, it took a while for the lull to set in. Last week’s numbers have officially proved it though that the lull period is upon us. Despite the drop in volume, there were still enough players on hand to provide a few headlines here and there.
The biggest winner of last week was Wilhasha, who played 12,990 hands in 45 sessions to score an overall profit of $239.8k. Sure, the amount may not be a particularly impressive one, especially in light of what generally goes down at PokerStars tables, but this week it was well enough for the top spot.
Other winners were Terje Augdal (who took down a little bit over $152k) and Phil D’Auteuil, who managed to break past the 100k mark too.
The losers were a bunch of relative unknowns, with the exception of Zypherin and Alexey Makarov, who both got a sip from the bitter glass of defeat, having dropped $140k and $130k respectively. The biggest loser of the week was a player known as terryhsu. He lost $237.1k, setting the bar for the week. Another big loser was a guy known as 5tgb6yhn7, who lost around $195.2k.
Patpatman was back in action last week, and he squared off against Alex Millar yet again. The two locked horns at the $200/$400 NL Holdem tables and put in 1,125 hands. Millar pretty much steamrolled his opponent, coming out of the bout with a $209k profit. That haul made Millar the biggest winner of the day, while his opponent locked up the title at the other end of the profit-spectrum.
On Friday, it was Theo Jorgensen’s turn to play some PLO and to win big. He finished the day with a $69k profit.
EireAbu is still the most profitable player for the year, followed by Ben Sulsky and bernard-bb.
