The high stakes
online poker action saw a bit of a lull in anticipation of the upcoming Holidays, as many players have apparently more important things to tend to then feeding the grind monster. The “race” for the biggest online poker winner of the year seems to be in the bag for Ilari Sahamies, as neither Rafi Amit nor Victor Blom seems hell-bent on robbing him of the title.
The biggest winner of the week was a relative unknown: a player who goes by the cumbersome online moniker “1Il|1Il|1iffdsdfddfdl|,” He took home a $283,059 profit, which was a rather slim haul in comparison to what other biggest winners usually take home. He played 12,288 hands in no fewer than 82 different sessions.
Ronny Kaiser was active too. He finished with a $265k profit, for which he only played 7.4k hands – much more efficiently than 1Il|1Il|1iffdsdfddfdl|.
Gavin Cochrane also made the winners’ list, together with bernard-bb and Terje Augdal.
The biggest loser of the week was also a relative unknown: kaju85 dropped around $189k, to clinch the unenviable title.
VietRussian didn’t fall far behind in losses: he dropped $152k to lock up second place. Zypherin and Randy Lew also made the list.
Ronny Kaiser made most of his profits on Thursday, when he generated $174k at the $100/$200 PLO tables. The biggest pot of the day was a $217.1k whooper, which ended up on Kaiser’s side of the table after his pocket rockets held up against his opponent’s straight and flush draws.
One of the biggest winners of the month, Fake Love888 – suspected by some to be none other than Patrik Antonius – returned to the tables to get some of his money back. He got lucky and finished as Friday’s biggest winner with a profit of $142k. Cochrane swung into action on Monday and he took down $130k, which he amassed through several small pots.
