Online Poker Taking Over Twitch.tv

For those who have known Twitch.tv as the primary destination for eSports action, it always made perfect sense to have online poker action featured there as well. After all, what's more competitive than a bunch of guys trying to pry real money out of each-others' hands at the green felt of the virtual poker table? With all that in mind, it's obvious that
online poker and Twitch are a match made in heaven and indeed, since PokerStars have launched their own Twitch channel, the game has firmly embarked on the path to eSports legitimacy. The GPI is apparently also interested in hooking up with Twitch, so the eSports-future of the game is bright indeed these days.
There are obviously a few poker-channels out there more worthy of following than others, and the one that tops the list in this respect is that of Jason Somerville, the poker pro who did the most for online poker's "migration" to Twitch. For Somerville, it all happened after his partnership with Ultimate Poker was blown up. It was then that he turned to Twitch, rapidly becoming the most followed and viewed poker player of the platform.

Besides Somerville, there are quite a number of other big poker names showcasing their skills at twitch too: David Sklansky is surprisingly one of the players who have a channel there. The father of modern poker strategy plays a lot online, and he also has a webcam running, when he discusses the action - which - by all standards is quite awesome indeed.

WSOP Main Event Champion Greg Merson is on Twitch too, sharing his secrets and luring followers both to his account and to that of Team Gripsed.
