'Name’ players had a field day online last Sunday at PokerStars, as two of them, Jude Ainsworth and Ryan Hall managed to win events. Ainsworth won the Bigger $55, taking home $45.9k. Hall took down the $109 Sunday Rebuy.
The Sunday Million, the weekend flagship tournament of the site, saw a handsome Starting field of 7,063 players belly up to the tables. The prize-pool shot past the $1million mark yet again: $1,412,600 was up for grabs, with a massive share for the winner. A 4-way deal at the top spoiled the eventual winner’s payday, but all 4 players were content to take down as much as they did. The win eventually went to Kipu, who collected $190k for his efforts. vonBaronow ended up in second place. His reward was a $149.6k one.
The other two players in the deal were EireAbu and Thostyle. They took home $130k and $86k respectively.
Other notables to finish deep were Markus Garberg (took down $57.9k for his 5th place) and Mike Leah (whose 14th place finish was worth $5.8k.
The Sunday Warm-Up was supposed to dole out a $500k guarantee, but the 3,267 players who registered for the event combined buy-ins for a $653.4k prize-pool.
The event was won by Pokerfred99, who took down a prize of $102.5k. There were no deals in this event. Vincent van Der Fluit finished 33rd in the tournament.
The Bigger $55 which Jude Ainsworth won, drew a starting field of 5,927 players. These guys combined for a prize-pool of $296,350. Jude Ainsworth didn’t share the spoils with anyone: he made no deals on his way to the $45.9k top prize.
Mayrogata finished second for $34k, followed by Paris Dedes in 3rd with $24k.
The $109 Sunday Rebuy saw 900 players pony up the $109 buy-in, creating a prize-pool of $297.3k.
Ryan Hall, the winner of the event, took home $55.7k. Pablo Brito Silva finished second for a $40.1k reward.
