The WCOOP was again in full swing over the weekend, so the major weekend guarantees were on break yet again. There was no shortage of online action though. The biggest winner of the weekend was djalminha, who won the $109 Sunday Rebuy, outlasting a starting field of 1,250 players and taking down a prize of $76,084.
The prize-pool was a massive $416k one. No deals were made at the top. Djalminha bested none other than Martin Tureniec heads-up. Tureniec took home a prize of $55.4k for his efforts. There were plenty of notables in the starting field, and quite a few of them have reached the final table of the event too. Neil McFayden finished 3rd, taking home $41.6k. Javier Dominguez ended up in 4th place, an effort worth $31.2k.
Andriy Pavlyuk finished 8th, taking home $9.3k.
The WCOOP’s Second Chance 61 was an interesting event too. An 8-game mix featuring a buy-in of $1,000+$50 is always a magnet for high profile competitors. The event drew a field of 22 registrants, who combined buy-ins for a prize-pool of $22k. Mayu Roca Uribe won the event, taking home $40.1k. Sergey Ribachenko finished second for a $35.1k payday. Third place went to hotmark777, who pocketed $15.7k. Only the top 3 places were paid and there were no deals made at the top.
The Bigger $109, which was supposed to offer a $100k guarantee, attracted 3,223 registrants, who gave birth to a prize-pool of $322,300. The winner of the event was Alusius P57, who made no deals on his way to a $50.9k prize. Tom Grigg played in this one and he made it all the way to third place. He was rewarded with $26.4k for his efforts. Andriy Pavlyuk played in this event too. He finished 15th, to grab a prize of $1,933.
The Sunday Storm (featuring a $200k Guarantee) was won by monolit77, who took home $28.9k. The eventual prize-pool was a $309k one.
