Online Poker Weekend – Scott Seiver Makes Final Table

The ongoing Spring Championship of Online Poker meant that the two most prominent Sunday Majors, the Sunday Million and the Sunday Warm-up were on break last weekend, but even so, there were quite a few major guaranteed prize-pools up for grabs, and even more players on hand to try to take advantage of them.
The Sunday 500, with its $300k guarantee, was one of the two largest weekend events (the other one was the Sunday Storm with a $300k guarantee of its own).
The Sunday 500 shot past its guarantee handily: the 958 players who registered for the event, combined buy-ins to create a prize-pool of $479k.
The winner of the event was No Limit NL, whose $83.7k haul turned him into the biggest winner of the weekend. Second place went to Andrey Zaichenko, who collected $60.8k for his efforts.
Scott Seiver made the final table of this event and he almost made the heads-up stage too, falling just short in 3rd place, for a $45.5k reward. Stefan Huber – one of the top SCOOP protagonists – was in the mix too: he finished in 5th place, for a $23.9k reward. There were a couple of other notables who finished within the top 10 too: Martin Hruby finished 8th, for $9.5k and Steve McNally finished 9th for $5.5k.

The other weekend events were pretty pro-heavy too. Joao Simao managed to win the Sunday Second Chance, which offered a $175k guarantee. 1,480 players coughed up the $215 buy-in though, so the eventual prize-pool nearly reached the $300k mark. Simao picked up $50.3k for his win, after he bested a player known as ‘iamarigold’, who picked up $37k for his efforts.

The interesting thing was that there weren’t any deals in any of the weekend guarantees, with the sole exception of the Sunday Kickoff. The Sunday Storm was won by jollyhall914, who took home $27.7k. The $11 buy-in drew 31,939 registrants in this poker tournament.
