Optimal Payments to Handle 888 Payments in the US

Optimal Payments Plc, the company behind Neteller, exited the US market in 2007, in the wake of the 2006 UIGEA, joining a drove of online poker and gambling sites, which included PartyPoker. Perhaps it doesn’t come as a surprise then, that the same move – the legalization and regulation of real money online gaming in the Garden State – which allowed PartyPoker to make its return, let Optimal Payments back into the US market as well.
It was only a short while ago that Optimal Payments have picked up the necessary approvals to re-join US-based online gaming, and they’ve already landed a sturdy partner in the 888 Group. Under the agreement struck by the two parties, Optimal Payments will provide payment services for 888 Holdings Plc. in the legalized US markets, which includes New Jersey as well as Nevada and Delaware.
Under the terms of the above said agreement, Optimal Payments would come as a pre-integrated solution for the 888 operations as well as for all the operators currently using the 888 platform (and there are quite a few of those already in the US).
Optimal Payments’ return to the US wasn’t exactly something unexpected. After all, they left the US market early, in accordance with US law, and they have tweaked their services specifically to meet the requirements of the state gaming regulators in the US.

Of course, Optimal Payments won’t settle for handling the online operations of one platform provider alone. Besides 888 Holdings, they’ve already signed agreements with Caesars Interactive Entertainment Inc, and Bally Technologies, to offer payment processing services in the US. Unlike 888, the above said two companies are direct New Jersey license holders.
According to 888’s Chief Operations Officer Itai Frieberger, his side has been working with Optimal Payments for 12 years, so opting for their services in the US was a natural move for 888.
