Day 4 of the PartyPoker Premier League III witnessed the top players wedge a healthy points spread between themselves and the rest of the pack. JC Tran, the overall chip leader has cemented his lead by finishing second in his heat and thus mustering an event-high 32 points. Peter Eastgate, the overall second place, and Tom Dwan have also had very fruitful days as they too extended the distance separating them from the rest of the pack. David Ulliott and Nenad Medic, the two cellar dwellers of the ranking board, once again ran into difficulties, which left them stuck in 12th and 11th respectively as they only gathered 9 and 6 points so far.

Heat 7, the first of the day, saw Tom Dwan soar to a victory over the other players who were once again powerless to prevent him from shooting to 2nd or 1st.
The first victim of the heat was Phil Hellmuth who had quite a cold shower after his win in the last heat he took part in. He earned 0 points this day, and sank back into the thick of the field, taking up 8th place with 13 overall points.
Tony G was the one who fell in 5th place, a finish which earned him 2 points rounding his overall production up to 16 points, good enough for 6th place.
Nenad Medic followed him in 4th (3 points), and Roland de Wolfe in 3rd (4 points). The heads-up battle of the heat pitted Tom Dwan against JC Tran, with the former holding a rather formidable lead of 490,000 chips against Tran’s 110,000. The mano a mano battle was over extremely fast, as Dwan’s Ac7c made short work of Tran’s Q,7o in the final hand.

The second heat of the day featured another victory by WSOP Main Event Champion Peter Eastgate. Andy Black busted out of the game in 6th place, earning no points and confining himself to 10th overall this way.
Annette Obrestad finished 5th for 2 points as David Ulliott earned 3 points, and Vicky Coren finished 3rd for 4.
Eastgate’s A,K sent Juha Helppi to the rail in 2nd marking the second consecutive win for the young Dane in the PartyPoker Premier League.
