PartyPoker Premier League VI – Dan Shak Wins

The PartyPoker Premier League VI went into the history books on Saturday, and the player who picked up the top prize and the honors was Dan Shak, who thusly continued his so far quite incredible 2013 run. Shak picked up $450k for his win. He bested Sam Trickett, who came in second, picking up $200k. Third place went to Antonio Esfandiari, who started his first ever Premier League on the wrong foot, but managed to take home $150k in the end. Jonathan Duhamel finished 4th for $125, and Daniel Cates took home the last 6-figure prize in 5th place.
Tobias Reinkemeier was the player who started the final table with the largest stack. He faltered however, and he ended up in 6th place for $70k.

The first player to bite the dust at the final table was Talal Shakerchi. He had a big stack at the beginning of the final stretch too, but he too failed to capitalize on his advantage. He first dropped a massive pot to Antonio Esfandiari and that left him pretty much crippled. Jennifer Tilly then moved in for the kill and she bounced Shakerchi in 8th place, sending him home with a $45k prize. Tilly herself couldn’t hang in there much longer: she was the one eliminated in 7th place. Her share of the action was $60k. Reinkemeier fell next as said above. Cates got the last of his chips into the middle with pocket 7s against Dan Shak’s pocket 4s. Another 4 fell on the turn though and Shak pulled away for good.

By the time the heads-up stage of the poker tournament was reached, Shak held a 2-1 chip advantage over Sam Trickett. The final had of the Premier League VI saw Shak’s Qh, 4h (which rivered a flush) take down Trickett’s 10,2o.
