PartyPoker WPT Merit North Cyprus Classic – Day 1B is History

The second day 1 flight of the 2014 PartyPoker WPT Merit North Cyprus Classic saw more players hit its tables than on the previous day. A total of 203 entries were registered, which means that at the end of the registration period for Day 1B, a grand total of 374 buy-ins were in the middle. Given however that registration remains open for the beginning of the second day, it is probably safe to say that there will be more entries still before the line is drawn.
Whatever the case, one thing is already certain: last year’s 262-entry yield has already been left in the dust.
Albert Daher was the one who finished the day with the largest stack. He ended up with 219.2k chips to his name. He was followed by Dmitry Samoylenko with 182.7k and Sam Trickett, with 140k.

Trickett had played on Day 1A too and he got acquainted with the rail too, but ht re-bought, and he completed his rebound by finishing in 3rd place as said above.
Marco Tomassino, Simon Higgins and Ilan Boujenah finished within the top 6 as well. While Day 1A was largely dominated by Russians and Ukrainians, on Day 1B, everyone came out to play.
Nicolas Chouity and Paul Tedeschi made the top 10 as well. The Lebanese in particular seemed to do well: Chouity put in a superb performance picking up pots left and right though the day, while his fellow countryman, Albert Daher, lost his first bullet of the day, biting the dust during the first level of action. He then re-bought and didn’t stop until he had the largest stack built up.
