PartyPoker WPT Montreal – Day 2 Report

The second day of the WPT’s Montreal Main Event sponsored by PartyPoker, saw 357 players return to its tables, the survivors of three day 1 flights and an initial starting field of 862. Given that the money-bubble had been set to 100th place, it was everyone’s immediate goal to make the money and to grab at least a tiny share of the $2.7 million prize-pool. A total of 10 levels of action went into the day, during which, the field did indeed manage to play down to and then past the money-bubble.
When the dust settled after the day was called, only 59 players were left standing.
The one who finished Day 2 with the largest stack was Ludovic Lacay, a player who needs no introduction to fans of poker: Lacay was the winner of the 2012 EPT’s San Remo Main Event, but he obviously has plenty more trophies in his display case to boast. Lacay finished the day with 1.26 million chips to his name.
He was followed by Marco Cannizzaro in second place with 1.17 million, and Jerry Wong in third, with 1.16 million.
Jonathan Little made the top 10 as well, together with Guillaume Darcourt.

The day kicked off in a high gear: players – high-profile pros and unknowns alike – began hitting the rail left and right as soon as the action got going. Jonathan Duhamel was one of the early victims. He was sent packing by Alexandar Markovic, whose Ad, Kd got the better of Duhamel’s A,9o.

Jeff Madsen and Jason Koon didn’t do any better either, in the sense that they too were bounced before the money was reached. They were joined on the rail by Sorel Mizzi, Will Failla, Scott Seiver, Eugene Katchalov, Shannon Shorr and scores of other similar-caliber pros.
Grabbing a slice of the freshly legalized New Jersey market, PartyPoker have bounced back into contention in the world of online poker. Register an account with them today!
