PartyPoker WPT National Cyprus Main Event Kicks off Tomorrow

The PartyPoker WPT National Cyprus is without a doubt one of the early highlights of the live tournament calendar, and it is already running, with its Main Event coming up just around the corner. The preliminary events of the Series featured some €1 million in guaranteed prizes, and the Main Event alone will offer a €300k guarantee. The buy-in is €2k, so it’s not exactly for everyone, but online qualifiers were available at PartyPoker, and those who made the Main Event through those qualifiers will definitely get a major bang for their buck. On January 21, there was a super satellite right on the spot for the Main Event costing just €400, so indeed, there will be plenty of players involved who haven’t paid the full entry-price.
For the first time ever, the scene of the action will be the Noah’s Ark Deluxe Hotel and Spa, a major tourism complex, located near Famagusta Bay.
Play at PartyPoker, take advantage of their generous promotions and use their online qualifiers to win a seat in an event like the WPT National Cyprus Main Event.

Cyprus is indeed a preferred location for poker tournament action, not just on account of its mild climate, but also because it’s a proven location, at least for the WPT. The last event the tour held on the island was in September, 2014, when the Merit North Cyprus Classic Main Event saw some 404 players belly up to its tables, creating a prize-pool of $1.48 million. The winner of the event, Alexander Lakhov, took down $325.4k for his efforts. Two months earlier, there was another WPT event on Cyprus, the WPT National Merit Cyprus Main Event, which Lakhov also won for $124k. With that in mind, Lakhov will probably return for the National Cyprus too.
