PCA NAPT Bounty Shootout – Andrew Chen wins

6 players returned on the final day of the PCA NAPT’s $5,000 Bounty Shootout with their eyes on the prize. Due to the winner takes all nature of the event, they really didn’t have much of a choice but to aim for the top. The final day action lasted for nearly 12 hours, as none of those involved were particularly keen on walking away from the table and the $123k top prize.
When the dust settled, only Canada’s Andrew Chen had reasons to celebrate.
Chen had to best a rather exquisite final table on his way to the top. His opponents were Shaun Deeb, Michael Binger, Scott Baumstein, William Pilossoph and Marko Neumann.
Michael Binger’s road to the final table was a pothole-strewn one indeed. He had to fight through his own brother at a given moment to survive.
It took a massive 7 hours of trench warfare for the first victim to surface: the dubious honor befell Pilossoph, when he shoved all-in on a flop of 4,5,4 holding 5c, 7c. Chen was the one who made the call with J,J. Pilossoph was dominated and he never caught up.

Neumann was the one who followed Pilossoph out the door in 5th place. It took a couple more hours for Scott Baumstein to follow suit in 4th. His elimination was followed by a monster showdown between Deeb and Chen, one that quite probably changed the momentum of the event. The chips went into the middle before the flop, with Deeb Holding a pair of 10s against Chen’s pocket rockets. The board brought nothing but bricks for both players, which meant that Chen crippled yet another formidable opponent.
The final hand of the event was a truly impressive one. All three remaining players pushed their stacks into the middle. Chen had Ah,Jh, Binger had 9,6o and Deeb had 9,3. Needless to say Chen got the better of the other two, winning the pot and the tournament.
